Topic : Environment

 

 

Global warming is one of the most serious issues that the world is facing today. What are the causes of global warming and what measures can governments and individuals take to tackle the issue?

 

While some people consider global warming to be the most pressing environmental problem which we have at the moment, others believe that deforestation has a more devastating impact on our world. Discuss both sides and give your opinion. 

 

More and more animal species are being extinct because of human activities(on land and seas). Why is this happening? What are solutions for this problem?

 

Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish. Why do you think this is happening? What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced?

 

More and more pollution and wastes are generated these days. What problems do they cause do humans? What should individuals do to reduce pollution?

 

Fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas) are the main sources in many countries, but in some countries the use of alternative sources of energy (wind energy and solar energy) is encouraged. To what extent do you think it is a positive or negative development?

 

Many people think that international car-free days are an effective way of reducing air pollution. Others think that there are more effective ways. Discuss both views and give your opinion. 

 

Some people believe that the most effective way to control industrial pollution is by increasing the taxes of manufacturing companies. Others, however, say that this would have little influence on industrial pollution and that other ways are required. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

 

Every day, millions of tons of food are wasted all over the world. Why do you think this is happening? How can we solve this problem? 

 

Recently, the degree of noise is getting higher. What are the reasons and how can we tackle this issue?

 

Wild animals have no place in the 21st century, so protecting them is a waste of resources. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

 

Nowadays animal experiments are widely used to develop new medicines and to test the safety of other products. Some people argue that these experiments should be banned because it is morally wrong to cause animals to suffer, while others are in favor of them because of their benefits to humanity. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
