Some people think it is more important for governments to spend public money on promoting healthy lifestyle in order to prevent illness than to spend it on the treatment of people who are already ill. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 

 

The money spent by governments on space programs would be better spent on vital public services such as schools and hospitals. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

 

In the future, it seems more difficult to live on the Earth. Some people think money should be spent on researching other planets to live on, such as Mars. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? 

 

Some people think that government should spend money on road systems, while others think that car owners who use those roads should pay. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. 

 

Some people believe government should spend money on building train and subway lines to reduce traffic congestion. Others think that building more and wider roads is the better ways to reduce traffic congestion. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

 

Many people prefer to watch foreign films rather than locally produced films. Why could this be? Should governments give more financial support to local film industries?

 

Creative artists should always be given the freedom to express their own ideas (in word, pictures, music or film) in whichever way they wish. There should be no government restrictions on what they do. To what extend do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
